Fashion Question

Hem lines for skirts seem to be falling just below the knee these days. This is a cute look.

Am I to old to wear a skirt that comes just below my knee? It seems like most of the women I see wearing this length are younger than I am. Is it an age thing, or is it merely that most women my age (37) or at least the ones I know, don't update their wardrobes often enough?

Help me out here. I"m clueless when it comes to fashion.

Aieee! The super-fantastic Alana should wear the knee-length skirts if she likes them! She should not worry about the date of the calendar! The lovely Alana is in no danger of looking like the mutton-dressed-as-the-lamb, as she has the fine tastes in the clothes. She just lacks the times and perhaps some amount of the moneys to indulge the fine tastes fully. She should go and try some of the skirts and see if the skirts they are flattering -- and then she should make her own to her liking.

Not sure what your current skirt length is. If it's above the knee, for heaven's sake, GO for the longer length!! If you're wearing mid-calf skirts, as I do, again, you're young enough to go a little shorter, with the below-the-knee length. It's when you get to be an old bat like me, and I'm old enough to be your mother, that you don't give a hang about skirt length and wear whatever you darn well please. ;->

I DEFINITELY think you should wear skirts that length. You would look wonderful! And I see many women 20 years older than you were skirts that length and they look great.

I can't wait to see you in one :)

I think just below the knee is the most flattering length for any age. That's the skinniest part of your leg. Mid-calf skirts actually make people look bigger, and older. Go for it!

Nah, I wear them. I think it's a great length. I love the look of them.

Of course you're not too old to wear skirts with hems just below the knee. That length is flattering for any woman. Especially short women.

Ok, to answer Meg's question: No, I most emphatically do NOT wear skirts above the knee...or even AT the knee. Wearing one just below the knee feels a bit...daring to me.
